He came up short twice when attempting to win the Commonwealth title, but the “White Rhino” has become a British fight fan favorite since pulling off a shocking KO victory over fellow Brit Nick Webb in July 2018. Browne (28-2, 24 KOs) had been on a three-fight winning streak since being on the wrong end of the 2018 Sporting News KO of the Year. The 40-year-old Australian will have to go back to the drawing board and rethink his career. “Main eventing is one thing but I had to win,” Allen said. “I’ve won now, I beat a former world champion – I’m going to go home and enjoy this, maybe David Price or Dereck Chisora next.”Here’s how the rest of the Allen-Browne card went.Co-main event: Derek Chisora defeats Senad Gashi via unanimous decision (99-91, 100-90, 100-91)Chisora (30-9, 21 KOs) overcame Gashi (17-3, 17 KOs) in their 10-round bout. Gashi came into this fight off a TKO defeat to Carlos Takam last December; Chisora stopped Takam in July. The fight opened evenly with both men trying to get the measure of each other. Gashi moved well against the ropes while “WAR” tried to cut the ring off and land the jab. Although Chisora found some difficulties against the southpaw, he was able to maintain control with his aggression. Both men exchanged body shots that livened up the crowd in Round 3, but the fight fell flat from then on until the final bell.Undercard resultsJosh Kelly def.
