Wolf Honors Fallen Officers at Annual Police Memorial Ceremony Press Release,  Public Safety Harrisburg, PA – At today’s Fraternal Order of Police Annual Police Memorial Ceremony, Governor Tom Wolf honored the four Pennsylvania law enforcement officers whose watch ended while on duty during the last year.“Thank you to the Fraternal Order of Police for inviting me to be here.“Each time I visit with law enforcement I feel renewed amazement at the bravery exhibited by the men and women who keep Pennsylvanians safe, our homes safe, our communities safe.“To serve the public is to face a fear of the unknown each day.“You don’t know what will happen when you knock on the door with a warrant, or pull over an errant driver during a traffic stop, or respond to a domestic violence call.“It takes a unique bravery to run toward danger, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for having the bravery to do this job. And, for your strength to carry on when your brothers and sisters fall into harm’s way.“In the work you do, you honor the memory of those whose watch ended: Raymond Diaz Jr., a police officer with the Philadelphia Police Department’s 24th District; Christopher David Hill, a Deputy U.S. Marshal with the U.S. Department of Justice’s U.S. Marshal Service; Brian Scott Cuscino, a detective sergeant with the New Castle Police Department; And Alex Sable, a police officer with the York City Police Department.“Today we have gathered to honor their memory, but I say you have already done that by carrying on the selfless work of watching over your fellow Pennsylvanians, the people we love, the places we call home.“I thank them and ask everyone to honor their character and bravery.“And I ask that we remember their families, who have already faced their greatest fear and now must find the courage to carry on. Thank you for your sacrifice. It is now our time to support you.“Thank you to everyone for being here today for this tribute to our police officers: marshals, sheriffs’ deputies, constables, and other law enforcement officials.“I am grateful for the heroic work you do each day in keeping our commonwealth safe.”center_img May 06, 2019last_img
